Hi, my name is Kirstin Knox. I am an aspiring Fashion Designer with a BFA from Kent State University in Fashion Design and a minor in Business. As a young girl I took an interest in sewing, learning from my great grandmother and grandmother. I was gifted my first sewing machine at the age of 10 and quickly took off from there.
I knew I wanted to pursue a career in fashion and worked hard to jump straight into design. I started working at a fabric store throughout high school to broaden my knowledge on fabrics and their uses. I then went to college at Kent State University to earn a degree in Fashion Design. While at Kent State University I had the privilege to study abroad in Florence, Italy to learn more about design in the global aspect, flat patterning, and got to work under professors who worked for Gucci and Versace. I had an internship with David's Bridal in the alterations department, and worked up to a Level III seamstress. My Senior year, I dedicated my efforts towards the Kent State University BFA program and had work selected for the Kent State Annual Fashion Show.
